Advanced Training for Therapists

Introduction

The aim of advanced training is to help therapists recognize the content and usage possibilities, as well as the limitations, of various techniques. Additionally, it focuses on how to create an appropriate therapeutic space for the client by utilizing knowledge acquired elsewhere or in the course. This means finding the root cause of the difficulties that have arisen in the client's current life by combining different therapeutic skills.

Imagine a bundle of ropes made up of many different rope pieces. Each has two ends. The therapist has learned various techniques and methods to find the match for each end, which is the presented issue and its root cause.

The Minad School opened its doors for the first time in January 2022. To date, two courses have been completed, and we will start the third one in the fall of 2025.

The curriculum for the 3rd course (2025-2026) can be found here

Course Structure

Learning process

Every therapist has their strengths and weaknesses. Competence is gained by learning about and skillfully using these attributes. This means that strength can sometimes be a weakness, and vice versa. The aim of the course's learning process is to identify and act skillfully, taking one's abilities and limitations into account. The more consciously you can manage yourself, the more confident clients will be in working with you. Being a therapist is a lifestyle that requires constant self-work. Why? Because clients bring up issues that often have personal significance. The more you are aware of and have worked through your background and development, the more trust, openness, and therapeutic impact there will be between you and the client. In the course's learning process, the focus is on you, as a person who learns through experience to support clients.

Teaching Methods and Structure

The main teaching methods are transpersonal psychology, body psychotherapy, and a systemic approach. The course is structured with a focus on developing the therapist's skills and understanding personal talents. What is learned in the course is put into practical application, and participants can experience their effects, possibilities, and limitations firsthand. Practice takes place in small groups, where various therapeutic combinations can be performed on each other. Discussions and analyses, or feedback sessions, are held to learn how methods may have different effects. Overall, through personal work and experience, you will shape yourself into the therapist you truly are. You will learn techniques and knowledge that provide flexibility while staying within your limits and respecting the client's wishes and possibilities, mastering the skill of working from person to person, incorporating therapeutic approaches.

The aim of advanced training is to raise the level of therapists and encourage the use of method combinations. Every person is different and does not fit into preset frameworks. Here, you will learn to do therapeutic tailoring.

Shape yourself into a unique therapist.
