and Family Constellation Seminar to study different possible dynamics behind common disorders.
In family constellations, we approach mental health disorders, i.e. mental and personality disorders, systemically. When we look at the hidden systemic dynamics of the disorders, we discover children blindly redeeming, sacrificing, and compensating for traumatic events, conflicts, and broken relationships from the past in order to belong and survive.
Mental and personality disorders can reflect secrets that manifest as symptoms and personal suffering. In family constellations, we can look for the source of past events, acknowledge what has not been seen, ignored or excluded, and honor what was. This, in turn, brings balance and calm to the system and wholeness, which is reflected in the present.
ON WHAT WE WILL BE FOCUSING ON THESE 4-DAYS:
In this 4-day Family Constellations workshop we will look at a number of mental health disorders from a systemic perspective including: schizophrenia, bipolar, borderline, narcissism, and ADHD. In Family Constellations we experience these disorders within the family system not just within an individual suffering from the disorder. We can see that these particular disorders begin with a perpetrator and victim creating paradoxical entanglements over many generations. With this perspective, we will also include autoimmune disorders in our exploration.
STRUCTURE OF THE SEMINAR:
Through lecture, discussion, exercises and a number of Family Constellations, we will explore why some family members experience severe mental, emotional, behavioral or physical symptoms, how the whole system is affected in some way and what Family Constellations can do to help with these disorders.
TOPICS OF THE SEMINAR:
- Characteristics of these mental and physical health disorders.
- The hidden perpetrator and victim dynamics that give rise to these disorders.
- How these disorders effect the whole family system.
- Why certain member carry the burden for the other family members.
- The difference between loyal and paradoxical entanglements.
- Difference between psychosis and dissociation.
- How these entanglements move through a family system generationally.
- How to work phenomenologically with these disorders and create helpful
constellations.

OBJECTIVES OF THE WORKSHOP:
- How to recognize given disorders when they have occurred in the client's family system.
- What are the possible systemic occurrences of these disorders.
- What are the possible effects on offspring and other family members who do not have the disorder.
- To prepare constellation facilitators and therapists to recognise given disturbances from a systemic point of view, not to be alarmed, and how to proceed. Perhaps to be aware of their own skills and capabilities and, if necessary, refer the client to the right therapist.
- Provide additional knowledge in this area to mitigate the risks and to act skilfully.

THE WORKSHOP WILL BE LEAD BY BARRY KROST (USA):
Barry Krost has over 40 years and thousands of hours of training and experience in alternative healthcare approaches. His practice features Family Constellations, Bodywork, Energy Healing and Life Coaching. He is a practitioner and instructor of Ortho-Bionomy and teaches and facilitates numerous workshops and training courses online and in person.
Training
Barry graduated from The Chicago School of Massage Therapy in 1983. Since then,
he.has trained or had experiences in many health, wellness and healing techniques
including: Art of Living breathing, chakra balancing, chi gong, lymph drainage
therapy, myofascial release techniques, reflexology, Reiki, shamanism, somatics,
sports massage, tai chi chain, systemic resolutions, transcendental meditation,
transpersonal psychology, trigger point therapy, vinyasa yoga and Zero Balancing.
He began learning about Ortho-Bionomy in 1991 and eventually completed training
over a ten year period to be a practitioner and instructor. He has taught Ortho-
Bionomy workshops since 2001 and presented at numerous conferences. He is a
former President and Board member of the Society of Ortho-Bionomy International.
Since 2003, Barry has taken workshops and/or training with many leading Family
Constellation facilitator/trainers including: Bertold Ulsamer, Dan Cohen and Emily
Blefeld, Scott Bader, Suzi Tucker, Ursula Franke-Bryson and Thomas Bryson, Bill
Mannle, Francesca Mason Boring, and Stephan Hausner. His interest in
understanding systemic resolutions and victim-perpetrator dynamics in particular
began with growing up with a parent and grandparents who survived concentration
camps during the Holocaust.
Certifications, Registrations and Licenses
Barry is certified in Bodywork Therapy (Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals), certified in Family & Systemic Constellations ( Bert Hellinger Institute, USA ) and a certified Life Coach ( Certified Life Coach Institute ). He is also a Registered Instructor & Advanced Practitioner of Ortho-Bionomy® (Society of Ortho-Bionomy International) and a Licensed Massage Therapist in Illinois, USA (IDFPR)
Teaching/Mentoring
Barry has been teaching massage and bodywork trainings, workshops and
continuing education to fellow practitioners since 1992. He is an Approved Provider
of continuing education for the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage
and Bodywork (NCBTMB). Barry has taught and presented at
numerous conferences, workshops and training seminars on many different topics.
He was a guest presenter at the 16th and 17th International Intensive in Systemic
Resolution in Bernried, Germany and presented in 2021 and 2022 at
the International Systemic Constellations Conference. In November 2021 he
presented at the North American Systemic Constellations Conference on
"Systemic Schizophrenia" and "Standing with Ancestral Strength and Protection."
He also offers a unique online Family Constellations Facilitator Training Certification ,
an Advanced Training in Individual Family Constellations Sessions , and a Virtual
Mentoring Group for Family Constellations.
